Jamacho Hike Route

The Jamacho Hike route begins at Fulbari Gate, near Balaju and Machhapokhari. After completing the national park entry process, the trail enters a quiet forest inside Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. The route is mostly uphill on stone steps and forest paths. The climb is steady, but not technical. You pass through dense greenery, tall trees, bird habitats, and peaceful resting points before reaching Jamacho Gumba at the top.

From the summit area, you can enjoy views of Kathmandu Valley and the surrounding hills. On clear days, the northern Himalayan skyline adds a beautiful reward to the hike.

After spending time at the monastery and viewpoint, you descend the same way back to Fulbari Gate and return to your hotel.

Your Jamacho Day Hiking starts with the drive from Thamel to Phulbari Gate. From here, you will walk through the dense forest climbing stone-paved stair steps. Witness different species of birds and monkeys along the way. It is a total of 4 Km going up. Walking for 2-3 hours reaches the top of Jamcho Peak. Explore the Buddhist Shrine at the top and enjoy the views of the biggest city of Kathmandu. After, descent to the Phulbari Gate which takes an hour and a half.     Meals During the Hike 

    During the 4-5 hours of the Jamacho hike, you will be provided seasonal fruits after reaching the Top of the Hill. The guide will carry the fruits for you, which can give you enough nutrition after climbing around 4 KM. Moreover, you can decide if you want to choose the fruits or not before departing for the hike. Normally, seasonal fruits like bananas, apples, mangoes, oranges, etc. will be provided accordingly. 

    Drinking water along the Hike

    Before the start of the Hike, we will provide you with a bottle of Mineral water. However, if you want, you can also carry your water bottle. As you hike around 9 Km, you need to get hydrated.
